DesignWorks began working with The College of Charleston in 2004 as a member of the Campus Master Plan team led by Ayers Saint Gross.  The Master Plan established a vision for future growth as well as design strategies and guidelines for all campus spaces including city streets.   Subsequently, the firm designed all the campus spaces in a full city block associated with the new Library, redesigned Cougar Plaza which fronted the old library, redesigned the historic campus core known as the Cistern, redesigned the gardens of the President’s House and Guest House, redesigned the courtyard at the Office of Admissions, Barnett Park for the Center for the Arts and the Campus Center Apartments, a new dorm between the campus and King Street.
