Mike Kittrell

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Georgia, Mike came into the field of landscape architecture with an interest in how environment shapes and enhances our cultural experiences and reinforced this interest with a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Texas-Austin.

He began his career with DesignWorks in 2006 and has a strong conviction to approach design from an environmentally responsible and culturally relevant perspective.

Mike’s DesignWorks portfolio includes the revitalization of one of Charleston’s most historic places- Colonial Lake, the redesign of the public realm and streetscape for Memminger Auditorium for Spoleto Festival USA, master planning and site design for park spaces, new communities, institutions and homes within Charleston and the surrounding coastal island communities, as well as master planning for several ecologically-focused developments throughout the country and overseas.
